The ship stayed at the dock while negotiations were attempted, but we ended up leaving at 1 pm. The good news was that this meant that the Prisendam could sail into the Gironde Estuary and dock in the city of Bordeaux earlier. The ship was to arrive around 1:30 pm on Wednesday afternoon; instead we arrived around 1:30 am Wednesday morning – giving us more than 24 hours in Bordeaux. A quite positive trade off, in our opinion!
Another interesting note on Tuesday’s program: by popular request, there was a NO SMOKING NIGHT in the Ocean Bar. This is a beautiful bar and dance floor, but the entire area often seems smoky so we tend to avoid it. We weren’t part of the no smoking request, but did end up in the Ocean Bar this evening and enjoyed the band Crossover. Seemingly, so did a number of others as the bar was standing room only until nearly 11:30 pm.
