The # 1 Most Frequent Photos in a Road Warrior’s Photo Stream

If you look at our photo stream that is set up to sync from our iPhones into Dropbox, you will see a high frequency of photos that look like this one:

Most people would probably wonder what all those photos of numbers are doing interspersed between photos of destinations, food and our Princess cat.

Well, Mr. Jones and I spend 175-200 nights a year in a hotel room. Currently, it is mainly Mr. Jones spending most of those nights on business travel.

Some weeks, he is in the same hotel for three to four nights.

Sometimes, he is in four different hotel rooms during a single week of travel.

The thing is, these hotel rooms tend to look the same, especially from the door leading into the room.

When you arrive after a day of flights, followed by a rental car drive in traffic to a hotel in the suburbs near a client’s office, you are tired. And all these hotel numbers tend to look the same.

You head to the hotel restaurant bar in hopes that the kitchen is still open, and some sort of hot food is still available. You order, eat quickly, and then — you can’t remember your room number to charge the dinner to your room bill.

Unless, before you first entered your assigned room, you whipped out your smartphone and took a quick photo of your room number sign.

Smartphone cameras come in handy for many quick snaps when you are traveling – from the license plate number of your rental car to the floor and section number sign where your left your car in the parking lot, to your hotel room number.
