The Andes. Malbac wines. Incredible steaks. Hospitable people. Fine leather goods. Empanadas. These are just a few reasons we’ve found Argentina a wonderful country to visit. Now there is another good reason to plan your trip to Argentina.
U.S. citizens are not required to obtain a visa to visit Argentina for tourist stays of 90 days or less. However, during our two prior visits to Argentina, we had to pay a $160 reciprocity fee at the airport prior to our entry into in Argentina. This reciprocity fee was charged to U.S. citizen tourist and business travelers to Argentina to counter the fees the United States charges Argentine citizens to enter the U.S.
Argentina Just Announced: It Will Suspend the Collection of the Reciprocity Fee from U.S. Passport Holders
This notice from the Embassy of Argentina is great news for U.S. citizens planning to visit Argentina:
In order to strengthen the relationship between Argentina and the United States of America, the Argentine Government has resolved to suspend the collection of the reciprocity fee from US passport holders who visit our country for less than 90 days, for tourist or business purposes.
