It’ Friday and we are celebrating our Top Five Weekly Travel Highlights, inspired by
Lauren’s High Five for Friday.
1. My monthly Birchbox arrived in this week’s mail. The June box celebrates the “Jet Set” lifestyle. It’s always exciting to find that pink box among the mail. If you missed it, check out this post about the monthly delivery that’s perfect for frequent fliers.
2. Rating roller coasters with a 10-year-old is one of life’s pleasures, especially when the child is Justina, our adorable roller-coaster-connoisseur niece. At Kansas City’s Worlds of Fun, Justina rates the Patriot a 10 out of 10. Her aunt doesn’t ride the 5-thrill-level coasters but she does diligently note Justina’s roller coaster ratings and commentary.
3. While a flight delay put us into the hotel late, we marveled at the television imbedded in the bathroom mirror at the Four Seasons Hotel Denver. Right in the heart of downtown Denver, this hotel offers many luxurious touches.
4. A glorious day greeted us in Keystone, Colorado where we traveled to attend TBEX 12, a conference with the world’s largest gathering of travel bloggers and writers. We couldn’t decide which part of Keystone was more awe-inspiring: the mountains or the resort’s hospitality-superstar staff.
5. We had the pleasure of meeting Scott Jordan, founder and CEO of SCOTTEVEST. Scott gave each of us one of his 22-pocket vests for travelers. All of the pockets make the lightweight vest a carry-on-bag-replacement for our cameras, cell phones, iPads, money, tissues, business cards and everything else that we tend to carry when traveling. The SCOTTEVEST preformed impressively during my first test of wearing it up the mountain with my “stuff” rather than schlepping a bag or a purse. Stay tuned for more updates on our experiences traveling with these vests.
Cheers to you and your travels discoveries!
