A 7-Day Canada and New England Cruise on Holland America’s ms Rotterdam

This week we are enjoying a 7-Day Canada and New England Discovery cruise on Holland America Line’s ms Rotterdam.

While we plan and book most of our cruises well in advance of departure, this cruise was a last-minute, spontaneous purchase. Five days before departure, we canceled our Labor Day plans in Washington, DC, and then booked this cruise.

Our reasons for this last minute change of plan included:

We love this cruise itinerary, and the price was right.
We were able to book one-way airfare to meet in Montreal using United frequent flier points.
We were able to book one-way airfare from Boston to Kansas City with Southwest Airlines points.

Most exciting, we had not sailed on the ms Rotterdam since our honeymoon in 1999, and we couldn’t resist the chance to re-visit the ship we’d enjoyed for such a special event.
