We like to research and write “Fun Facts” posts on a given destination for three reasons:
1) To Research a Destination in Preparation for a Visit
The more you know about a destination before you go, the more fun you can have there. Researching gives you context on a given destination, and the highlights of things to do and see. We find this particularly useful when we are visiting a new destination via a cruise ship. With limited time in port to explore, the advance research allows us to focus on what interests us most in a given destination.
2) To Recall Fun Facts After Visiting a Destination
You often learn a lot of information about a destination from tour guides or other locals. Writing these fun facts down helps you keep them top of mind long after your trip. It’s fun to go back and review the details of a place.
3) Fun Facts are Terrific for Trivia or Cocktail Party Sound Bites
Which state is the United States’ northernmost, westernmost and easternmost state? You can learn the answer by reading this fun facts post. Reading fun facts posts will help you in your next travel trivia competition. Or, remembering a few fun facts about a destination you are visiting can be used as an ice-breaker at a cocktail hour when on a cruise.
